Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of design change in the urban regeneration project having performed comparative analysis of the causes of design change between regeneration projects and new residential building projects. This study calculated the frequency of each cause and the increased costs. Then after doing such works, the researcher investigated characteristics of design change in the regeneration project by comparing frequency of design change and severity of increased costs between regeneration projects and new projects. The effects of design change according to construction condition on both projects were the greatest, and that the next was the effects of improvement. And, it was confirmed that, comparing frequency and severity according to each cause of design change between regeneration project and new project, in case that design change is occurred due to construction and improvement factor, the form of scatter diagram of regeneration project illustrated the linearity with rapider gradient than that of new project.
